When we feel like giving up we have to remember that failure is temporary. Marilyn vos Savant says, “Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Giving up is what makes it permanent.”

Put the work in, build the relationships. It’s worth it.

The rewards for taking the risks for rapport are measureless. Build rapport first; everything else follows.

Lies

The problem with liars is they have no remorse for hurting others. They also can’t admit fault.

The best approach is to let them lie to you. If you know how to build rapport they will end up telling you the truth eventually anyway.

A key component to rapport is telling the truth and being kind. We often ignore the importance of simple acts of kindness but they create opportunity and invite success in even the most extreme of circumstances.
